I am in the process of building Dave Ek's DSC interface, having the PCB I placed an order with Jameco for populating the board. I placed the order just before midnight on 1/10 and received it on 1/13. Given the timing of my order near midnight 1/10, I would say delievery was 2 days! The package arrived in a huge heavy cardboard box with alot of crushed up paper product. Componets were wrapped as expected from electronic supliers with sensitive components shipped in ESC bags. All the components were sealed in an outer bag, with each component/s sealed in a smaller bag identifying them.

Many of the components have minimum orders for instance the resistors are sold in bags of 100, fortunately all 13 of them used in the project are the same value.
